On August 13th, Xu Shuren, Party Secretary of the China National Rice Research Institute, accompanied by researcher Zhang Yuping and Cui Yong, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office at Jiangsu University, visited our college for research and exchange. Liao Zhiling, Party Secretary of the College of Agricultural Engineering; Jia Weidong, Dean of the College; Tang Zhong, Deputy Dean of the Harvesting Equipment Research Institute; Zhu Qingzhen, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Machinery Department; and other relevant personnel participated in the exchange.

During the meeting, Liao Zhiling introduced the development history and achievements of Jiangsu University and the College of Agricultural Engineering, with a particular focus on the construction of disciplinary platforms. Xu Shuren and his delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with the on-site personnel regarding the challenges and development trends in rice cultivation in China, focusing on urgently needed technologies such as rice mechanical transplanting with mulching film, smart farm construction, and plant protection mechanization.
Liao Zhiling, Jia Weidong, and the leaders of relevant teams unanimously expressed their commitment to carefully summarizing the outcomes of this exchange. They pledged to organize relevant research teams within the college to conduct scientific research in close alignment with national strategic directions in the rice sector, comprehensively promote the application and implementation of technologies, and contribute to increasing rice yield per unit area.
Xu Shuren and his delegation also engaged in on-site exchanges with Academician Chen Xuegeng regarding specific technical issues and visited the agricultural machinery laboratories of the College of Agricultural Engineering.
